Current Events

So the last post was depressing, going back to more recent events. = )

The weeks have been flying by. We're already past the half-way mark! This is week 20.

Starting to feel them move. That's a strange, bubbly, funky feeling. It's hard to tell who's who but since Buttons is on top, I notice him more I think. Not sure if it's Booger or Bunny down lower; more observation needed.

Had dinner tonight with my in-laws (Hi Karen & Duke!). It was amazing to think how many more tables we'll need next year! Karen pointed out, her 4mo old Audrey is going to be the middle child. Audrey is sooo adorable, so easy-going, even when she was upset she was cute.

We won't be so lucky. My guess would be two absolute angels and one absolute demon child. They reserve the right to switch places unannounced.

What's going on with me... feeling pretty good overall. Starting to get tired easier. Costco beat me down on Saturday, had to stop halfway through and test the lawn furniture. Sometimes I notice losing my breath easier, sleeping has been more of a challenge recently. Still - THANK GOODNESS! It's been a relatively easy pregnancy to date.

Down the tubes

Any answer has to start at the beginning. In 2002 we had our daughter, Kali, and she's been the light of our lives. Sometimes a green light, sometimes red, but regardless... we decided to try again in 2004.

It worked! I was pregnant in December 2003, found out in January 2004 and had a few weeks of happy 'Here we go again!" moments. Everything came crashing to a halt shortly after midnight at the end of January when I woke up, doubled over in pain and couldn't breath. It eased after a few minutes, but I started bleeding. The ER diagnosed a threatened miscarriage, the OB confirmed later that week and scheduled a D&C on Jan 28th. It was sad thing but we could move on... except that's where things got complicated.

Two weeks later I was still bleeding (just a little) and had some short bouts of intense pain (just a little). The OB was on vacay, the backup called in some meds but they made things worse. On Feb 13th at 10pm Brian insisted something was wrong and took me back to the ER. By midnight I was on IV painkillers, by 2am they had called the on-call surgeon and scheduled emergency surgery. The surgeon confirmed I had been within hours of dying from internal blood loss even before we went to the ER. The final diagnosis was a ruptured ectopic ("tubal") pregnancy, which resulted in the loss of the right fallopian tube. The pregnancy formally terminated on Sunday, Feb 14th.

I will always be thankful to Baylor Garland. They took good care of me, did everything possible and honestly, they saved my life. They delivered Kali and we are thankful for that, too. I really wish we were going back this time... that will be a separate post...

Growing... growing...

Brian's been after me to start blogging. So, here's the first post.

First of all, I dislike the A/B/C designations. I call them Bunny (A, girl), Buttons (C, boy) and Booger (B, boy).

Booger got his nickname cause several sonos have shown him kicking his sister in the head. = ) They've been moving for a while but this week I've been able to feel them. Nothing specific, just flutterings. Buttons feels particularly more active but that's cause he's on top, kind of under my left ribs. It's Bunny that's giving me fits at night, though. She's on my bladder!

Growing fast.....

We had another sonogram earlier this week. Everyone's growing nicely and on track to be good sized babies (Imagine that, given their genetic makeup! ;) )

Here are the latest sonogram images:

And here's the video of that sonogram:

We have a bump!

It's interesting, Tarynn's "Baby Bump" has gotten a LOT more noticeable in just the last few days!

We're currently at 18 weeks and 4 days. Another sonogram tomorrow. I almost feel guilty, with Kali there were only a few sonograms, and each one was an EVENT. This time around with the triplets we've had so many sonograms, it's almost become blasé, but they're still very special! This one's a little extra special because Kali's on spring break, Mimi and Papa (My mom and dad) will take her to it, so Kali will get to see (And hear, hopefully) her siblings for the first time.

Yeah, it's the in thing to do...

I know, I'm only like a decade late to the party, but, with the upcoming upheaval our family is about to go through, figured it'd be fun to start a blog about it...

We're currently 17 weeks into the pregnancy of the Ecton Triplets. Here's some current sonogram pics to bring things up to date:

Baby A (The girl)

Baby B (Boy #1)

Baby C (Boy #2)

Anyway, I wanted to get started with this, I have no clue if I'll follow through or if this will end up being one of the millions of 1 or 2 entry logs out there, but I won't know until I try, right?
